Bowling Balls
The bowling ball is the single biggest variable in your scoring. At The Wright Fit Pro Shop we stock reactive resin strike balls, smooth urethane control balls, and plastic spare balls from every major manufacturer — and we drill every one of them to your exact span, pitch, and Positive Axis Point.
01
Match the coverstock to the oil
Reactive resin grips fresh oil for aggressive hook and backend continuation — your strike ball on medium to heavy volume. Urethane reads the lane smoothly and is forgiving on shorter or drier patterns. Plastic barely hooks, which is exactly why it is the right choice for converting corner pins.
02
Read the core, not the marketing
Asymmetric cores store energy and flip hard on the backend for higher-rev players. Symmetric cores deliver the predictable, arcing motion that lower-rev and stroker bowlers can repeat shot after shot. RG and differential numbers tell you how early the ball reads and how much flare it can generate.
03
Dial the layout to your release
The same ball drilled two ways plays two different lanes. Pin-to-PAP distance, VAL angle, and pin-up versus pin-down all shape ball motion — which is why we measure your hand and your PAP before drilling. See our Drilling Guide for the full breakdown.
